A Conversation with Steven Spurrier – A Life in Wine

Dec 19, 2020

Please enjoy our conversation with Steven Spurrier…

British wine icon Steven Spurrier, who has been called “the man who changed wine forever” thanks to his role in organizing the momentous Judgement of Paris tasting in 1976. A consultant editor for Decanter and one of the masterminds behind the new Académie du Vin Library initiative, Spurrier has long been a champion of good wine as well as good wine writing. Both have the capacity to elevate the senses, inform and educate. His life in wine has cast him in countless roles where he has excelled: journalist, buyer, entrepreneur, vintner, mentor, restaurateur, educator, judge, communicator and consultant. Join Spurrier and Christopher Waters for a free-ranging conversation about his life’s pursuit, his memoirs A Life in Wine and his current passion project, making sparkling wine at his winery, Bride Valley Vineyard.

“Few people have so profoundly informed, guided and inspired generations through their journeys in wine.”
